In July 2011, after completing a 10+ show library series in Fresno, I never walked the same again. That moment marked the beginning of a long and often uncertain journey to clinically identify dystonia and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). With the support of UC Davis Health and the compassionate care of the neurology team, I continue to learn how to navigate the challenges these conditions bring. Would I like things to be different? Yes. Am I willing to accept that things are different? Also yes. In time, I’ll share more about this journey here. For now, I want to offer trusted resources that help explain the complexity of dystonia and FND and support those living with them.
